Coorg Travelbook

‘The Scotland of India’ Coorg is a place for all the nature lovers. This ultimate place is known for coffee plantation, steep hills, countless streams, rich flora & fauna, lush forest and breathtaking views.

Coorg is a beautiful hill station, also popularly known as Kodagu, it is situated in the state of Karnataka located in the South-Western region of Indian.

There are multiple options to reach here. Like by bus, by train or by air. Coorg does not have its own airport. If you want to travel by air you will land at Manglore airport, as this is the nearest airport to Coorg.

The nearest railway stations to Coorg are Mysore, Mangalore and Hassan.

Once you reach to the nearest airport or the railway station, the rest journey is via a bus or a personal car. KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation) provide deluxe buses to Coorg, from Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore.

We took flight from Delhi to Banglore and covered our journey from Bangalore airport to Coorg by our own personal car. And all the above shoots are taken on the way.

There is a lot to see when you are at Coorg. I was there for two nights so couldn’t cover a lot, but I am really happy and excited to share a little information that I could gather in these 2 days.  I hope you like it. 🙂

Abbey Falls

Located in Madikeri, Abbey Falls is among the most beautiful and must visit attraction in Coorg. This is the most breath-taking waterfall that falls from the height of 70 ft. There is a hanging bridge right in front of it that provides a never to forget view of this fall. Unfortunately, on my visit the bridge was closed.

Do not forget to have ‘Meri Mountain wali Maggie’ from the nearby stalls with that hot cup of tea or coffee. 😀

Harangi Dam

Harangi Dam is a beautiful place and a must visit specially during the monsoon season. This tourist place is located in Hadgur Village.

Mandalpatti is an awe-inspiring place located at a distance of about 35 kms from Madikiri Town.

The way to Mandalpatti is off- roading which is an experience in itself.

It is highly recommended to avoid one’s own vehicle and hire a jeep from there. Believe me this ride from Madikiri to Mandalpatti is no less than the adventurous roller coaster that ends up in screams and life long experience. Hats off to the drivers!!!

There are lots of resorts to chill in. We choose Coorg Jungle Kids Resort. This resort is located in Kushalnagar.

Spread in really wide area, this resort serves all the possible amenities to their guests.

Review: Rooms are small. Free WiFi in Lobby. Room Service available. Too much greenery that relaxes the soul in itself. Quiet and peaceful area. Food is decent. They have a swimming pool with some water rides (which is hard to find anywhere else). Spacious Parking area.

This is all I have to tell you guys about Coorg. I know there is still a lot about this place, but all the above information is on my own experience. If you found it useful, Like and subscribe. And put for kind feedback in the comment box below.
